NEW YORK (CBS) The battle for Michael Jackson doctor Conrad Murray's freedom will be caught on tape. A Los Angeles judge has ruled that a television camera will be permitted into the courtroom during the involuntary manslaughter trial against the doctor.
Murray has been charged in connection with the death of his patient, pop icon Michael Jackson. The King of Pop died in June 2009, after an overdose of the powerful drug Propofol, a surgical anesthetic almost used almost exclusively in hospital settings.
Prosecutors say that Dr. Murray administered a lethal dose of the drug to Jackson while in the singer's home, making him responsible for Jackson's death.
Jackson fans worldwide can now tune in to the trial, set to begin this March. If convicted, Murray could face up to four years in prison.
